The analogue switch-off date is around the corner and Minister of Communications Khumbudzo Ntshavheni says registrations for digital migration are low.
"I think we have between March and now we have got a total of 40 000 additional registrations.
"There have been those who claim that if we switch off, there would be a surge in terms of people who come out and say we need assistance."
Analogue TV transmitters will be switched off on the 30 June.
Ntshavheni says in KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape some areas are inaccessible for the installation of dishes.
