NSFAS, Higher Education tackle possible corruption cases
Updated | By Puseletso Petersen
Student funding scheme, NSFAS says it is working with the Higher Education Department to clamp down on corruption at the country's tertiary institutions.

NSFAS representatives have been speaking about challenges facing students at a press briefing in Durban.
Spokesperson Kagisho Mamabolo says they're currently looking into claims by two students from two KZN universities that they didn't receive their funding - leaving them destitute.
"When there's fraud reported at an institution, NSFAS will stop dispersement of money immediately. In a case that involves management - this falls within the forensic investigation that the Minister of Higher Education is undertaking," he says.
NSFAS has encouraged the public to report corruption at institutions on the Vuvuzela hotline - 0800 203 900.
