The NPA in the Eastern Cape has welcomed the life sentence imposed on Christopher Panayioutou for the murder of his wife, Jayde.
Panayiotou and his co-accused, Sinethemba Nenembe were sentenced in the Port Elizabeth High Court on Friday.
A third accused, convicted of conspiracy to commit murder, was sentenced to 15 years.
Panayiotou was found to have orchestrated the kidnapping and murder of Jayde in 2015. The businessman's legal team is preparing an application for leave to appeal the conviction.
The National Prosecuting Authority's Tsepo Ndwalaza says justice has been served.

"It's been a very difficult time for both the family and the prosecuting authority. At the moment, we very much indicated that Christopher and his co-accused had a case to answer in a court of law," he says.
