North West protests continue

Residents of an informal settlement in Lichtenburg took to the streets again on Tuesday night.
Police, riot police and members of private security firms had their hands full after residents vandalised and looted shops during a violent protest.
Police say several people were arrested in connection with the looting, while police also fired rubberbullers on several occasions to try and disperse the crowds.
Jacaranda FM News' Maryke Vermaak is in Lichtenburg and says residents are unhappy over service delivery in the area.
Police have attributed the looting to "criminal elements".

Meanwhile in Coligny, about a 20 minutes' drive from Lichtenburg, residents set alight at least three houses as well as trucks during an unrelated protest.
The protest in the sleepy maize town was apparently triggered by the death of a 12-year-old boy, who fell off a moving vehicle driven by a local farmer.
Protesters have vowed to continue with the protest until the farmer is arrested.
According to reports, residents claim the boy was accused of stealing sunflowers from the farm and was loaded onto the back of a bakkie.
Police say an enquiry has been opened into the death of the unidentified boy.
