North coast voting station closes due to safety
Updated | By Shaun Ryan
While most South Africans have until 9pm tonight to cast their votes, there is one voting station in KwaZulu-Natal that has already shut its doors.

The tiny community of Enkovukeni near the Mozambican border on the KwaZulu-Natal north coast will complete the election process while still in the safety of daylight.
The IEC says around 239 people are registered to vote in the area - and most have to cross a lake to reach the polling station. It's not just any lake - there're hippos.
"We have to cross through a lake to get to that station. We are assisted by a SAPS Unit to cross in that particular venue. There is nature in that area such as hippos."

"We will return to mainland by 17h00," an IEC official said.
