North Coast voters take advantage of remaining hours
Updated | By Steve Bhengu and Sandile Zikhali
While election day has been marred by protests in parts of KwaZulu-Natal, it's been relatively smooth-sailing on the north coast.

At most voting stations visited by Newswatch - everything is going to plan.
There have sufficient material to accommodate all the voters. At one voting station, there were a lot of elderly residents - in the region of their 80s - who were casting their ballot. They were given preference.
There was minimal police presence - as means of formality.
Unlike the areas like Ntuzuma, it's calm and all is going according to plan. The numbers are starting to pick up - some of the voting stations registered about 700 voters and expecting more.
Officers say many voters will be taking advantage of the period from the early afternoon until the evening.
