No resolution yet in plastics sector impasse

Metalworkers union, NUMSA is calling on the CCMA to urgently intervene in the plastics sector's work stoppage, saying it's affected operations in Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg.
Workers downed tools in October after wage talks hit a deadlock.
The union's Phakamile Hlubi-Majola says they met with the employer in December again, but were disappointed with what was put on the table.

"Increases of workers should be based on minimums and not what they actually earn. These are all things our members have fought against.
"It's unfair that there should be a group of workers that are earning less than what has already been negotiated," Hlubi-Majola said.
