No one will remove Zuma as president: ANCYL
The ANC Youth League says no one can or will remove Jacob Zuma as president before his term ends in 2019.
Yesterday, the ANC in the eThekwini region held a march in the Durban city centre in support of Zuma. Police Minister, Nathi Nhleko, accepted their memorandum handed over to him by eThekwini ANC regional chairperson and mayor, Zandile Gumede.
"We request that senior leaders of state institutions and the ANC, such as former Finance Minister, Trevor Manual, respect the long-standing culture of the organisation and not to attack the organisation by using platforms linked to colonial masters," she said.
ANC Youth League president Collen Maine says Zuma is surrounded by snakes in the party.
"There is only one president of the ANC and the country and that is Jacob Zuma. Pravin Gordhan is not a president of the ANC and everyone is equal before the law, including Gordhan," he said.
"He must go to court and not mobilise anarchists to go to court with him with the intention of bringing Zuma down," Maine said.
