Africans with a sweet tooth will be pleased to know that sugar supplies in the
country are stable, for now.

The group's Dr Siyabonga Madlala says while challenges like mill closures, sugar taxes and the recent floods stoked shortage fears - there's an adequate supply for now.

Madlala admits rising production costs are concerning.
"We do mention that it is becoming a costly exercise to produce at the moment with the hike in fertilizer and diesel prices.
"But there is no imminent that is beyond normal inflation increases that we've all committed to on the basis of the master plan that has been agreed to."
“But, indeed there is nothing to panic about.”
