No load shedding this weekend
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
Eskom says there is no load shedding expected for the weekend due to low demand and an improved power system.
The power utility's Sikonathi Mantshantsha says there was a risk of loadshedding when a conveyor belt broke in Medupi but it has been repaired.
He says while this is good news they still urge the public to be mindful of electricity usage.
"While this is the case Eskom would still like to remind the public that the system remains constrained", Mantshantsha said
"Should there be further pressure Eskom may be forced to implement load shedding at short notice", he said.
