No further DSW strike anticipated
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
The majority trade union for eThekwini workers IMATU says it doesn't expect any further disruptions by DSW workers.
This after Durban Solid Waste employees disrupted the collection of refuse along the N2 Northbound and the Springfield area this week.
IMATU says since September workers have not been happy about the weekend overtime hours arrangements that management had decided on without consultation.
eThekwini Regional Chair Queen Mbatha says both workers and city management have reach an agreement.
"Workers met with the head of department who agreed that such developments should have been communicated to workers through labour forums", she said.
"Therefore he agreed to allow his deputy to communicate with shop stewards but in the meantime will be reinstating overtime paid hours on Satrudays", Mbatha said.
