No crisis of leadership in ANC - Mbalula
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula has insisted there is no leadership crisis within the governing party.
He was reacting to a letter written by former president Thabo Mbeki, raising concern at the manner in which the party is addressing some issues.
Among matters pointed out by Mbeki, is the party's handling of President Cyril Ramaphosa's Phala Phala saga, as well as the former president Jacob Zuma's Nkandla scandal.
Speaking at a provincial conference in Cape Town on Saturday, Mbalula said the party should be given space to decide on the matter.
“If anything were to arise and it requires us to take a decision about the president we have got rules in the ANC and checks and balances. We will decide. If the president has to step aside at some point because he's got things to answer from a point of accountability he will step aside.
"There's no problem about that, there is no crisis of leadership in the ANC," said Mbalula.
