The minister has been providing an update on his department's efforts to curb the spread of the disease.
The cholera outbreak has so far claimed 23 lives in Gauteng and one in the Free State.
There have also now been confirmed cases in Limpopo, although no deaths have been reported in that province.

"There has been a definite decline in terms of overall diarrhoea cases. Secondly in terms of those confirmed even diarrhoea in terms of serious illness there is a significant decline.
"People are coming early even those who have symptoms, they are treated. Even in hospitals, there are no seriously ill patients.
"The few who have been there the previous week have been attended to, some were transferred to Steve Biko Hospital and many of those have already been discharged."
