No charges yet against MK Party supporters for ‘invading’ storage facility in KZN

The Independent Electoral Commission says no criminal charges have been opened yet against the uMkhonto weSizwe party after a group of its supporters allegedly invaded a storage facility.

The incident happened at the IEC facility in Hammarsdale, west of Durban on Sunday.
Briefing the media on Wednesday, the commission's Mawethu Mosery said police are still probing the alleged incident.

"The provincial electoral officer had an occasion to meet with the leadership of the party in KZN. However, the incident is still a matter of processing ourselves as the commission as well as the police, further there will be criminal charges in due course."
