KZN Social Development launches campaign for moms, daughters in Durban
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Government says forging connections with KZN's business sector and religious and traditional communities will strengthen efforts to prevent and end gender-based violence and femicide.
Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities, Maite Nkoana-Mashabane was at a launch of a campaign in Durban on Tuesday aimed at promoting good relationships between mothers and daughters.
The initiative, which's being driven by KZN Department of Social Development, also relies on support from the sports, media and academic fraternities.

Mashabane says the campaign gives women a platform to speak about difficult issues.
"We are very much excited about this dialogue that was started by the department because it has to go out to say it is a societal matter.
"Maybe we need to gather around and do another general moral regeneration because this is our land. This is the only South Africa we have and it is us who have to fix it."
