Nine-year-old reporter hits back at critics
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
A nine-year-old journalist has reacted to social media critics who believe she is too young for the field.
A publisher at Pennsylvania’s Orange Street News, Hilde Lysiak became an internet sensation after being the first reporter on the scene of an alleged murder.
Lysiak, who received a tip-of directing her to the house of the crime in Selinsgrove, near Philadelphia, shared an article and video on her site, titled "Exclusive: Murder on Ninth Street!".
Breaking the news online, this drew criticism on whether a child should be reporting on a crime scene.
Responding to the backlash, the young reporter said “... I know some of you just want me to sit down and be quiet because I’m nine. But if you want me to stop covering news, then...do something about the news".

Subsequently, Little Hilde responded to her critics. See below.
