Nine people have been hurt after their double cab bakkie overturned on the N3 Tweedie off ramp in Howick, Pietermaritzburg, this morning.

"Paramedics found one person who was critically hurt. He was rushed through to Northdale Hospital while the other 8 were found with several lacerations and other moderate injuries and were taken through to Greys Hospital for further care," he said.
"It is understood the driver lost control of his vehicle and collided with a barrier causing it to overturn. The construction workers explained to paramedics that they were on their way to a nearby site when the accident happened," Vermaak said.
"Local authorities did attend to the incident and traffic was not severely affected due to this incident," he said.
