Boxing South Africa Chairperson Ntambi Ravele thanked Durandt for his hard work and instilling confidence in South African boxers.
Ravele says it is because of this that he was honoured with the lifetime achievement award in February.
"We thank God that He gave us an opportunity to honour you when you were still alive. In his acceptance speech, he dedicated his award to his seven International Champions, 97 South African Champions and 38 World Champions.
His eldest son Damian Durandt says his dad was an accomplished manager.
"He was dedicated to each and every individual and that is what made him so unique," says Durandt.
Durandt says he represented love, loyalty, respect and honour.
"He will be fondly remembered for his sense of humour, his distinctive use of language and the passion for his family. To those close to him, his kindness was immeasurable and nothing was ever too much to ask."
