Ngema played pivotal role in entertainment industry: Dube-Ncube
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
KZN Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube has described late playwright, Mbongeni Ngema, as a fallen tree who played a pivotal role in shaping the lives of those in the entertainment industry.

She was speaking at his memorial service at the Durban Playhouse on Wednesday.
Ngema died in a car crash in the Eastern Cape over a week ago.
Dube-Ncube say they will work to carry his legacy forward:
"Our country would not be where it is today if it was not for this industry having to highlight the plight of our people and apartheid and all the atrocities.
"So it is important at this time that we really look back and say are we really doing all as a community to support this industry."
KZN Tourism MEC Siboniso Duma says Ngema was the epitome of resilience.
"He was a very resilient character, someone who was passionate with music and knew his destination and he shaped a lot of people."
