The party's Canaan Mdletshe says, according to their research, as many as 30 Izinkosi and Izinduna have been murdered in the province recently in what it believes were well-coordinated attacks.
"Over the last three years, we have seen an increase in the killings of traditional leaders in the province."

"We want to know the perpetrators, but over and above that, we want to know the people behind these killings because we don't believe that hitmen or criminals just wake up and decide that they are going to kill a particular traditional leader, but we believe there are people behind these killings."
