NFP in KZN strategises way forward post-election

The NFP in KwaZulu-Natal says the party's poor performance in the elections was a big wake up call.
Provincial Chairperson, Vikizitha Mlotshwa briefed the media in Durban earlier today, saying they need to act urgently to rescue the situation.
He says they have identified three reasons why they only managed one seat in the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature and two in the National Assembly.
The party secured a little over 60,000 ballots in the national polls recently and about 56,000 in KwaZulu-Natal.
Mlotshwa says they have however accepted what has happened and have come up with a turnaround strategy for the local government polls in two years' time.
He says they are working towards making a bigger political statement in 2021 when South Africans vote in Local Government Elections.
A turnaround strategy has been put together by the party's leadership that they hope will guide them into the next elections.
"Some people were saying the NFP is dead, they will not receive anything after the 2016 Local Government Elections. We have to go to the branches where people are residing to make sure we are more visible than ever before."
"People must see that the NFP is back," he said.
