Newly-formed SAPP looking forward to local elections

While the IEC prepares for the Local Government Elections August 3, newly-formed South African People's Party says it looks forward to the process.
The party was formed just one month ago and expects to launch its manifesto in Durban next week.
Claude Hill, the party's ward councillor for Musgrave, Berea and Morningside says the public is currently being blinded by most political parties.

He says their core focus is to get communities more involved in development.
''If roadworks need to be done, don't just get it through a tender process. Let's say if it's for Musgrave, involve Musgrave tarring businesses because currently the municipalities are also just running to their friends and connections which is actually very unfair to the local community. Build your local community, that's what we stand for,'' he said.
Adding to the list of new kids on the block who will be contesting in Durban include the United People's Party and The Promise of Freedom Party launched last year.
