New visa laws worry KZN businesses
Updated | By Nondumiso Zakwe
Representatives from various industries including tourism, trade and industry have met with Home Affairs officials in Durban to discuss compliance with the new rules.
Andrzej Kiepiela is with the KZN Growth Coalition which is a partnership between big business KZN and provincial government.
He says although they understand the necessity to update the rules governing visas they feel there are mixed messages from the Tourism and Home Affairs departments.
''We don't want to have situations where we have conflicting approaches between different members of the same government and the same ruling party.
''The business community is then affected negatively in terms of the perceptions worldwide and the actual fact, or lack thereof, that its not coming through to us to give us an educated opinion,'' he said.
