New truck monitoring system for Durban
Updated | By Benedict Ngwenya

Transnet says the system will see trucks arrive at appointment times only at the container terminal.
Officials say the container appointment system has yielded successful results in terms of traffic congestion since it was implemented at the beginning of the week.
The terminal's Brenda Magqwaka says local businesses will benefit as the volume of stationary trucks decreases.
"It relates more to accidents, incidents and delays because people are running business here. There are guys that are running business. They've got mobile cranes that will take around.
"So, they can't afford to be closed out so that they're not able to continue with their normal operations because they also, as port users, have businesses to run. So, their business will run smooth and they won't lose business opportunities," she said.
