New traffic surveillance installed on N2 North
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
If you travel regularly on the N2, north of Durban, you would've noticed a number of changes along the route.
National Roads Agency, SANRAL says it's introduced new traffic monitoring equipment on a stretch of the N2, Northbound.
These include electronic message boards and yellow speed traffic cameras.
The agency's Dudley Mbambo says it's to keep people informed about incidents on the road like collisions and protests.
He says they're going to continue working between the King Shaka International Airport and Salt Rock interchanges as well as the N2 South from Isipingo down to Ilovo River.
"We will be installing additional cameras on the free management system and other devices we will be implementing are variable signs. We use cameras to detect incidents so that we can warn road users of incidents ahead - through variable message signs and through our portal," Mbambo said.
