New KwaXimba pipeline to ease water woes for 18 communities
Updated | By Andile Tsotetsi
Water and Sanitation Minister Pemmy Majodina says a newly repaired pipeline in KwaXimba, west of Durban, will bring much-needed relief to local communities.

The 7.4-kilometre pipeline will carry clean water to two reservoirs, which serve 18 communities in Ward 1.
The R378 million project includes a potable water treatment unit.
Majodina says she’s confident this will help ease water shortages in the area.
"I want to appeal to members of the community that when this project is fully finished, you must protect this infrastructure."

She says this an indication of government’s commitment to prioritise issues of water and sanitation in eThekwini Municipality.
"Government is not here all the time, you are the one's who are staying here, therefore, be the eyes and ears and prevent any criminal activities that will destroy this project."
