New COVID-19 daily infections almost cut in half in last 48 hrs

Efforts to stem the spread of COVID-19 show that the tide is beginning to turn in South Africa.
New daily infections in the country have been cut by almost half in the last 48 hours, dropping from 8 100 to a little over 4 551 last night.
The number of people who've contracted the virus since the outbreak has increased to more than 1 417 537.

243 more people diagnosed with Covid-19 have died, bringing the number of fatalities to 41 117.
KZN, which has recorded over 7 4 00 deaths, has 46 528 active cases.
Our recovery rate’s climbing. It’s reached 87,6% which means a little over 1 241 421 people no longer have Covid-19.
