New Covid-19 cases and deaths dip ahead of Easter holiday

The latest report by Health Minister Zweli Mkhize shows that 47 people have lost their lives to Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

"Today, 47 Covid-19 related deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 3, Free State 2, Gauteng 15... North West 23, Northern Cape 1 and Western Cape 3 which brings the total to 52 710 deaths," reads the report released by Mkhize on Monday evening.
Provinces that did not record any deaths are Kwa-Zulu Natal, Limpopo, and Mpumalanga.
Close to 548 new cases were recorded, bringing the total number of identified cases to 1545 979.
The recovery rate remains at a firm 95%.
