Nersa approves of Eskom power transfer to NTC

Energy Regulator NERSA has consented to the transfer of Eskom's powers and duties with Independent Power Producers to the National Transmission Company South Africa.
The organisations held a meeting in Pretoria last week after the power utility applied for the transfer in December last year.

NERSA's Nhlanhla Gumede says the move is good for the transformation of the electricity supply industry.
"As outlined in the roadmap for Eskom in a transformed electricity supply industry published by the Department of Public Enterprises.
"The transition of the buyer role from Eskom to the NTCSA is a critical component of this process
