Nehawu urges its members to boycott Makro

Nehawu in KZN has called on all its members to boycott Makro in solidarity with the more than 300 employees whom they believe to have been dismissed unfairly.

Some workers affiliated to union SACCAWU are on a 10-day strike - demanding that retail group Massmart give them a 12 percent wage increase, among other demands.

The employer has so far refused to budge from its offer of 4.5 percent.
"We are also calling upon the Makro bosses to reinstate all the workers and also pay workers the salaries that they deserve. We are therefore in solidatry with our sister union SACCAWU," says Nehawu's Ayanda Zulu.
