Nehawu strike delaying funeral arrangements, says association
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
Some bereaved
families in KZN have had to delay funeral arrangements for loved ones due to
the impact of the week-long strike by Nehawu on health services.
That's according to the National Funeral Practitioners Association.
Members of the public sector union downed tools last week Monday as public servants insists on a 10% wage increase.
The Labour Appeals Court yesterday upheld the interdict that the government obtained prior to the strike.
The court ordered all essential workers to report for duty.

The funeral practitioners association's Dududu Maganu says the strike has had a negative impact on funeral parlours.
"Families had delays being able to get their loved ones taken out of hospital mortuary so that can be transferred to undertakers. A lot of them had challenges where they worked a number of hours for them to be able to recieve the bodies because of blockages to entrances."
