NEHAWU members to continue Unisa strike until demands met
Updated | By Lethiwe Mdluli
Trade union, NEHAWU says its members at UNISA will remain on strike until they get what they are asking for.

"The employer wants to give a 4% increase while workers are demanding 12%," NEHAWU's Khaya Xaba says.
More than 8000 workers downed tools yesterday after wage negotiations with university management deadlocked.
"Workers are sick and tired of being treated like third class citizens by Unisa. Unisa does have the money to pay workers. Therefore workers are highly mobilised and they are willing to continue up until the employer decides to give in to our demands," he says.

Students, angry at the situation at UNISA's office in Durban then embarked on their own protest - saying they weren't informed that staff would be striking.
Meanwhile, workers at DUT say they will also continue protesting until management gives in to their demands.
