Nearly 350 new Covid-19 cases in SA

The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) has reported 344 new Covid-19 cases in the 24 hours leading up to Wednesday evening.
This brings the country's total confirmed cases to 2 922 735.
The institute says the latest increase represents a 1.3% positivity rate.
An additional 23 Covid-19 related deaths have been reported, bringing total fatalities to 89 220.
The majority of new cases come from Gauteng with 41%, followed by Western Cape with 13% and KwaZulu-Natal accounted for 12%.
There has been an increase of 37 hospital admissions in the past 24 hours with 3809 people currently admitted to both public and private health facilities.
On the vaccine front, 158 787 Covid-19 vaccines were administered on Wednesday.
