The visit by the council's Select Committee on Appropriations and Finance is being used to establish whether projects are improving service delivery and if spending has been carried out correctly.

Since Monday, delegates have visited the Dube Trade Port, Jozini, the Richards Bay Industrial Development Zone and eThekwini's Cornubia housing project.

The council will visit the Edendale hospital in Pietermaritzburg today. The committee's Charl de Beer says there are a lot of positives in KZN.

''There are positive things that I can take away from here that we can take to Parliament and inform the National Council of Provinces in a parliamentary sitting what we have experienced here.

''All our committees are out in the country in different provinces. We are now in KZN, so next week we get together in Cape Town. We're going to detail everything,'' he said.
