Nationwide marches planned ahead of motion of no confidence

The Democratic Alliance (DA) is planning to hold nationwide marches on the day of the motion of no confidence in President Jacob Zuma.
The party’s Phumzile Van Damme says the main march will be held in Cape Town, but events will also take place in the other eight provinces.
“Whilst the individual Members of Parliament must search within themselves to vote for the greater good of our country, the ordinary citizens of our nation will be pledging their support to get rid of the Zuma administration,” says Van Damme.
The motion of no confidence has been scheduled for Tuesday. Speaker Baleka Mbete says she will reveal her decision on whether the vote will be cast in secret by tomorrow.
“The DA’s motion of no confidence in Jacob Zuma is an opportunity for us all to stand up to corruption and get rid of President Zuma and his cabinet,” Van Damme says.
