National shutdown: KZN govt given two weeks to respond

The KwaZulu-Natal government has been given 14 days to respond to a list of demands from workers who marched over the high cost of living.
The Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) provincial secretary Edwin Mkhize read out the memorandum outside the Durban City Hall on Thursday afternoon.

The memorandum was then accepted by Transport MEC Sipho Hlomuka.

"I am going to take it premier of KwaZulu-Natal, who will then respond within 14 days as the leadership of organisers have indicated."
The marchers, who began their march at King Dinuzulu Park this morning, have now dispersed.
