N3 re-opened to traffic at Mooi River

There is a good news update coming out of the Midlands for those travelling through the area.
The N3 has been completely re-opened in the vicinity of Mooi River following violent unrest there overnight.
UPDATE: Southbound carriageway re-opened to traffic at Mooi River
Seven trucks were torched by a group of protestors.The N3 Toll Concession says both north and southbound carriageways have since been re-opened.

However, motorists heading towards Johennesburg can still expect delays as the backlog begins to clear.

Meanwhile, police say a group of men stormed the freeway at around 12.30am, torching seven vehicles before fleeing the scene.
Officers say none of the drivers were hurt.
Charges of malicious damage to property have been opened at Mooi River Police for further investigation.
