N3 closed at Van Reenen's Pass
The N3 freeway has been closed to traffic at Van Reenens Pass.
Authorities say the busy route will be closed for several hours while crews recover a truck that crashed there a few days ago.
The N3 Toll Concession says traffic has been affected in both directions, that is entering and leaving KwaZulu-Natal.
The concession's Con Roux is advising motorists to delay their trips as long as possible.
"During the closure a big backlog will develop and even after the road has been re-opened it will take a while for that backlog to work through. Our suggestion would be for motorists to avoid Van Reenens Pass for the entire morning," he said.
Roux says the recovery effort will be quite difficult.

Roux says the recovery effort will be quite difficult.
"It's an extra heavy truck carrying a heavy cargo, so it will necessitate a number of big rigs to pick it up. It is over the edge, so to pick it up is quite a precarious business."
UPDATE: The N3 freeway has been re-opened after crews recovered the wreckage.
