N3 between Pietermaritzburg and Cato Ridge reopened
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
The Department of Transport in KZN says repair work to the fire-damaged road surface in the Durban-bound carriageway of the N3 between Pietermaritzburg and Cato Ridge is continuing.

A truck accident on Thursday morning shut the highway.
It's understood the driver of a paraffin-laden tanker lost control and collided with another before bursting into flames.
The tanker driver is said to be in critical condition in hospital.
The department says the Johannesburg-bound lanes are now open while only one lane remains open towards Durban.
Spokesperson Kwanele Ncalane says some diversions are still in place while recovery and repair work continues.
"The damage is quite enormous on the road's surface. However, we got a team on site working with SANRAL that is currently working on the repairs for us to be able to open the road partially."
