Updated | By Newswatch
The management of Mangosuthu University of Technology is meeting this afternoon following this morning's protest by students.
They burned tyres, books, mattresses, blocking access to the main gate.
The section of Mangosuthu Highway near the institution was also obstructed.
The protest was over historical debt, among other issues.

Management says it's going through the list of demands it's received from student leaders and will respond after its meeting.
Today's protest was also in solidarity with staff who want an 8% salary increase. They've been offered 3.3%.
MUT says it's still in negotiations with the two unions, NEHAWU and TENUSA.
