Murder case opened after two farmers killed in Vryheid
Six men have been taken in for questioning at the Gluckstadt Police station near Vryheid, following the murder of two farmers in the area.
According to police spokesperson Thulani Zwane, a gang of more than 12 men attacked three farmers at their farm house in the Swart Mfolozi area last night.
"They were shot at and they were robbed of their cash. The suspects fled the scene and one of the farmers died instantly and the other two were taken to hospital for treatment. One of them alter died in hospital.
"As a result, police opened a case of two counts of murder and one of attempted murder," he said.
