Murder case opened after body found near Hazelmere Dam

Police have pulled a body from a river in northern Durban.
Officers say community members came across the body floating towards Hazelmere Dam this morning.
Police spokesperson, Nqobile Gwala says the man had been shot and his limbs bound.
"The police received a complaint about the body of a man believed to be in his 30s that was found floating in the river. We deployed an officer to the scene."
Gwala says the deceased sustained a gunshot wound to the head.

"The motive for the killing is still unknown at this stage and a case of murder was then opened for investigation at the Verulam Police station," Gwala said.
Police are investigating a case of murder but need help from communities in northern Durban to identify the victim.
