Updated | By Newswatch
Police probing a
corruption case in KZN have had to swoop on one of their own.
Investigative directorate IPID says it's arrested a warrant officer attached to Public Order Policing in Mariannhill for allegedly soliciting a bribe.
Investigations began into claims by a member of the public that Officer Enver Adonis asked him for a R5 000 bribe to not arrest him for selling drugs.
IPID's national spokesperson Robbie Raburabu says IPID arrested the police officer in Durban Central on Wednesday.

"He appeared in court yesterday (Thursday) and his case has been postponed to the 8th of August for a formal bail application at the Durban court."
Raburabu says the officer's out on bail in a separate case facing a charge of murder.
His trial in Nqutu is expected to begin next week.
