Municipality working ‘around the clock’ to restore water in Phoenix
Updated | By Sandile Bhengu
eThekwini Municipality's Water and Sanitation Department says it is working around the clock to make sure that water supply is restored in Phoenix, north of Durban.
Residents in the area have been experiencing water outages since the April floods last year, with the latest water outage occurring on Wednesday.
Department Head Ednick Msweli says they suspect it is a local issue as the reservoir levels on their side show a good supply to the area.
"I think it's something local. Normally we'd monitor reservoir levels. The supply to the area is fine but it could be a particular small pocket that has a problem. Sometimes it can be a closed valve that will affect a particular street but for now what we can pickup, it's alright."
