Mum saves toddler from drowning in Umkomaas
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
An 18-month-old toddler is in a serious condition in hospital after a near-drowning incident in Umkomaas.
It is reported the child's mother found her 18-month-old son floating in the pool last evening.
She pulled him out of the water and immediately began performing CPR.
Netcare911 paramedics who arrived at the home a short while later say the mum's incredible efforts led to the boy's heart beating again.
Paramedics say the child started breathing normally and they took over to treat the toddler before transporting him to a hospital in Scottburgh for further care.
