Multi-vehicle collision on N2 near Ballito
Traffic was heavily backed up along the N2 southbound near Ballito on Wednesday following a collision between several cars and trucks.
The cause is not yet fully known, with recovery and cleanup efforts underway.
IPSS says several occupants sustained minor to serious injuries, with the figures expected to change.

"Preliminary reports indicate that there were seven light motor vehicles and two trucks involved; this may change as more news comes from the scene," says the service's Samantha Meyrick.
"So far, multiple patients have sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious and are currently being stabilised on scene by IPSS Medical Rescue, and they will be transported to nearby facilities.
"Motorists are urged to use alternative routes at this time."
