Msunduzi service delivery 'deteriorating, concerning' - DA
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
The Democratic Alliance in KZN says the Msunduzi Municipality needs to urgently draw up a plan of action to prevent a complete collapse in service delivery.
The party's Ross Strachan says one area is water provision.
He says the city has failed to deal with the ongoing water crisis in Northdale.
He says the Department of Water and Sanitation has been dysfunctional, with sewerage leaks and pipe bursts taking a long time to fix.
Strachan warns service delivery on a knife's edge.

"The increase service delivery deterioration throughout the city and the lack of general capacity to deal timeously with these challenges is of grave concern."
But city manager Lulamile Mapholosa has rubbished the claims.
He says they are on the ground attending to the problems plaguing the municipality, including electricity infrastructure.
"Minerals and Energy [Department] is assisting us with funding to build a new substation we are requesting for something between R35 and R70 million over the MPF so that we can be able to address the infrastructure more especially the infrastructure that is in the CBD."
