Msunduzi to remain under administration
KZN Premier Sihle Zikalala says Msunduzi will remain under administration despite the city’s new leadership being sworn in.
Msunduzi has been under administration since April.
Zikalala says the new mayor and leadership team will work with the administrator to stabilise the municipality. Mzimkhulu Thobella was sworn in as mayor on Thursday.
Zikalala says the provincial government will assist Msunduzi in any way possible.
"As provincial government we will continue to support the municipality. We will not yet remove the administrator who has started working with the municipality," he said.
"Instead we will be working on expediting various projects that will ensure that municipality is able to meet the demands and needs of its people," Zikalala said.
