Msunduzi promises to resolve power crisis
Updated | By Xolani Khumalo
Msunduzi Municipality says its technicians are working frantically to restore power to all affected areas.

Residents in Pietermaritzburg's northern suburbs have been without electricity for almost a week after a substation was struck by lightning during a heavy storm.
Affected communities have grown increasingly impatient and have signed a petition with over 1 200 signatures.
They are calling for the Municipal Mayor Mzimkhulu Thebolla and his deputy Mxolisi Mkhize to be removed and have accused them of incompetence.
Mayor Thebolla says he cannot at this point provide a time frame as to when this could be resolved.
"As it is now about 40 percent of the residents are back on, the remainder we are either sitting between 80 to 95 percent complete and people will be switched on as soon as energising has been completed.
"We brought in together Eskom, our internal staff and subcontractors to assist in speeding up. We are certain these challenges will be resolved as a matter of urgency."
