This after a video emerged on social media of a motorist pointing to a disc on a municipal vehicle, that had expired in March 2019.

In the same clip, an Msunduzi traffic official is seen issuing a fine to a motorist for poor visibility of his license plate.

The municipality's Thobeka Mafumbatha says it was human error on the officer's part.

"We followed eNatis in terms of us being in terms of when the disc would be expiring and the disc we do renew them accordingly.

"And then of cause, the onus is upon the particular driver that is using the car to actually change the disc for which, in this case, it did not happen.

"The new disc has been there and it has since changed, but then again it is regrettable that this matter needed to go into the public domain before such action was taken; hence actions will be taken internally."
